Midnight saviour
I am a student. Sometimes unhappy about the way the world is run. But can't do anything about it cause the world is created as unequal. His favourite quote, " Hero of the Gods, Love of the mortals, Rebel of the underworld " " El héroe de los Dios, el Amor de los mortales, el Rebelde del hampa "

Are all students studying for exams just for the sake of studying. Sometimes, I wonder what is the education system becoming to. It's true that people are supposedly to be the country's resource. But don't you think it's becoming more and more stressful. A university degree is no longer valued at the same level as in the past. Is the education system changing at our expense. Take for example, a student committed suicide just because of her grades. It's not that she doesn't want to try or afraid to try. I believe her mentality was that since she scored that grades that were not of her expectations, how can she face the world. She has disappointed her parents, her friends and herself. Are grades really so important in this world? Can't someone succeed based on their own motivation and plans and interest? The world is increasingly more dependent on the knowledge as things get tougher and tougher. One can't blame a person for setting high expectations for himself. It's already in him or her. To succeed, one must accomplish a certain level of proficiency in his studies. And if they do not have any sports or any other talent, they can't make into the UNIVERSITY. While those with those so called talent are allowed to study in the university through some discretionery admission. Isn't this discrimination. So what if they can bring glory to the nation? Are all this done at the expense of those who really want to study in a University and can't because they are late bloomers. Is this really fair for them? All they want is a chance to succeed and they are instead deprive of a place because there's some people who are better than them in another aspect. Talk about meritocracy. Is this the right definition? Are people given the place based on their abilities? Or are they given the place just because they can bring glory to the country in future. Those late bloomers can too bring glory to the country. Its just that you will never know the future. If they are able to migrate to other countries who are willing to accept them, and from there they learn, work hard and succeed. I think we will be the ones begging them to come back. Why send those who are willing and wanting to break their study bonds after the government has spent so much on them? Why don't we just spend the money to nurture those late bloomers. Maturity happens to people at different time and who knows the late bloomers will excel in their own field. Talk about giving opportunities.
